Golf On A Budget

Golf On A Budget

I know what you’re thinking – golf on a budget! Can there be such a thing? Well, it is possible, if you take a balanced, objective look at the strategies used in marketing golf products.

Case in point – I just interviewed a local golf shop owner today. We were talking about the new golf balls, and he was telling me that representatives from different companies send him golf balls to use, hoping that he’ll recommend them to his customers.

Golf on sale

Well, he said he’s tried just about everything, and in his opinion, they all play about the same now. Picking up a box of 12 Titleist balls, he said, “This one is probably the best.” They cost $24.99 for the dozen. Then he laughed and picked up another box. “But this one is our best seller.”

The box was priced $44.99 for the dozen. I looked surprised. He shook his head and said, “It’s all hype. People think that if the balls cost double, they’re bound to play better.”

Now we have the new hybrid ironwoods. Are they really going to change your game that much? Or is it all a part of the marketing pitch?

I heard one marketer say that since the golf market was so saturated, he priced his clubs at three times the price of anyone else’s. And he sold hundreds of thousands of dollars worth. The clubs weren’t any more expensive to make than other clubs. It was just a “market test”. And folks bought like crazy.

Since no two people play golf the same – and everyone has an individual physique and swing – a product that adds distance for one player may not help another player at all.

Think about something you do very well that requires a piece of equipment. You’re the expert in this area. Should everyone who attempts your job then buy the exact same equipment as you have? Will that mean they’ll be able to do the job better or as well as you?

Food for thought, isn’t it? I enjoy gardening, and have a lovely flower garden. But I only have one or two garden tools that are considered the best. The other things I use because that’s what I’ve always used.

So just because one golf pro buys one kind of ball or club doesn’t mean that it’s the best for you.

The sales pitches that swear you’re going to add 30 yards and never hit another slice entice us to shell out the big bucks. But if you’re careful and have a healthy dose of skepticism, you’ll save both time and money in the long run.

Remember, in the golf world, just because a product is more expensive, doesn’t mean it’s necessarily any better.

Putt Your Way To Better Scores

If you want to be a good golfer or just have more fun on the golf course. The old saying becomes true. Drive for show and putt for dough. That saying is about as old as golf itself.

Golf Better Score
Now, I know that practicing your putting is not the funnest thing I the world. Going out to the driving range a smacking some drivers as far as you can is alot more entertaining. Most ametuers will spend ten times longer on the range than on the putting green. Thats propably why they are amatuers. Now, if they would at least equal the amount of time on each, there game would improve dramaticly. But just like anything else, it take patience to practice putting. I you want to get better at golf and have more fun, go to a professional and get some lessons. You should take a least a series of six lessons. The pro should take you though all the aspects of the swing, chipping and putting. I would suggest finding a PGA pro that has the same type of swing you have a follow what he does. You can do that by going online and looking at video of that golfer. Also find a pro that has a putting stroke that you would like to have and do that same thing.

When you practice putting, go to a part of the green that is less crowded. Take the flag out of the cup. Drop about five or six balls about four or five feet away. You want to have a straight putt and a little up hill. Start knocking them in the cup. Try to start making as many in a row that you can. Just concentrate on three items in you routine at a time. One on the setup, one during the swing and one on the follow through. You don’t want to put to much in your head at the same time. When you feel that you are getting good results with these items you are working on, work on something else. Don’t go on untill you feel that you have mastered it. Practice these four or five footers until you make at least fifty. When you get bored of five footers go practice longer putts. Make sure you get these putts by the holes and you putt everything in. When you get bored of these go back to the five footers to finish you session.

When you play a round write down how many putts per round, how many three putts, how many up and downs and lenght all putts you make. If you stick with this plan you will see a decrease in putts per round and the length of you putts increase. What happens is, you’ve been practicing five footers. When you have a fifteen or twenty footer, you have the confidence to run it by a few feet. You can’t make a putt if its not getting to the hole. You know you can make it coming back. Confidence is the key to putting. Keep your head still and listen for the ball to go into the hole. I hope this helps you golf game. You will get better and most of all I hope you will have more fun playing the game.

Want to improve your golf game?

Most amateur golfers build their golf sets the traditional way. Driver, 3 wood, 4 or 5 woods, iron sets 3 to PW, a couple of sand wedges and a putter. The first step to lower scores is to start thinking in an untraditional way. The end results are solid shots that give golfers increased confidence, which leads to better swings.

Golf Swing Speed-Improve Yours Today!

Are you tired of getting negative golf scores because the ball won’t get its maximum speed? Does your golf swing speed make your golf playing miserable? Then you must find a way improve it. There are a lot of techniques in order to … The parts of the body needed to speed up a golf swing are the feet, thighs, arms, wrist, and the whole upper body.

Better Putting In Your Golf Mind – Golf

Secondly, I’d help him find a way to remember every good putt he’s ever holed and to develop amnesia for every bad one. There’s a story I’ve heard about Jack Nicklaus that illustrates this perfectly.

How to Break 90 in Golf – Golf Tips to Break 90

The easiest way a golfer can break 90 is by improving their short game. It might well be that you walk off the course wishing you had driven the ball better, but actually the reason you missed your target was the six three putt greens. To break 90 you need an honest break down of how you are compiling a score. Therefore you need to think about keeping some basic golf stats to highlight what is letting you down.

Cheap Used Golf Cart

Deciding on buying a cheap used golf cart can be a great way to save some money on your next golf cart purchase. Many times it is possible for one to locate cheap used golf carts that have been very well maintained from country club golf courses, for example.

Before you buy a cheap used golf cart, there are some things worth considering that may help you find the golf cart that you’ve got in mind. First of all, you can buy golf carts from retailers, golfing facilities or individuals. Unless you have a specialty used golf cart retailer in your town or city, you’re probably left with the options of golfing facility or individual from which to buy a cheap used golf cart.

golf carts

I’d say the best route would be to approach any kind of golfing facility, such as a public golf course or country club, before looking into buying one from an individual. Sure, these facilities may not be interested in parting with any of their golf carts, but if they are you’d be getting a very well maintained golf cart. In many cases, golf carts that are used at golfing facilities such as these are so well maintained that you can really expect performance and durability like that of a brand new golf cart.

Of course really cheap used golf carts will more likely be older golf carts, that though they are well cared for, will not last as long as the newer models. Yet these cheapest golf carts may perfectly suit your situation if you want it for simple home use, will not be using it that frequently, or enjoy being frugal and realize that you simply don’t need a fancier golf cart than one that runs.

If there is a public golf course located where you live, give them a call and see if they have any older golf carts that they may be willing to part with. You won’t know until you call. And if you belong to a country club, by all means get the word out that you’re looking for a fair deal on a gently used golf cart. Especially if you’re a valued and long time member, chances are they will be able to help you out in some way. Even if they aren’t ready to part with one of their fleet, perhaps they would be willing to purchase a new golf cart from their supplier at their discount, which they pass on to you.

Again, you’ll never know until you try. Be persistent and kind; determined yet patient, and you’ll find the cheap used golf cart deal you’ve got in mind. That’s the thing about going after that which completes our lives, or even mundane aspects thereof, any effort, no matter how small will eventually add up. This means that eventually the information you need will come to you. Either through a chain of friends or by isolating a source of a quality and cheap used golf cart on your own, you will find what you need when you start asking and finding out what’s available.

Golf Balls That Match Your Skills

Golf Balls That Match Your Skills

Any golfer knows the role of the golf balls in their plays. No matter how good a golfer is, if he is without golf balls then his skills have no value. Every golfer knows these facts. This is why golf balls had become the primary commodities among golfers.

Determine your golf ball

There is no general way to determine which golf ball is best for individual players. This factor is almost entirely dependent on the golfer’s own preference, what he may do with the ball and how much will his pockets allow him.

For some, a single brand of golf ball says it all. They would stick to them for as long as they would want and most would never play if not playing with their particular brand of golf balls. Some people may call this insanity but this is an individual preference.

While a number of golfers may be practicing this, it is not thoroughly advisable to adopt this same attitude towards golf balls. The most ideal way of choosing balls is to use common sense, especially for beginning golfers.

A beginning golfer must never keep in mind what other people has to say about golf ball brands, may it be positive or negative. It must be pointed out that loosing balls for beginners is natural and this would mean that he need not focus yet on the quality or the brand name. What he needs is the low cost value the golf balls offer.

The best option for beginners is to buy golf balls sold in bulk, around 50 balls or so in a single bargain. These normally are balls that have been gathered from the greens and have been “recycled”. What’s good with these used balls is that they are commonly branded (but that doesn’t matter actually) and one need not grieve for having lost any of such balls. On the average, losing a golf ball is around a hundred percent for most beginners through sessions of hit practicing.

Golf balls

With upgrades in the skills come the upgrades on the ball qualities. But this still don’t suggest that intermediate players should rush to nearby golfing supplies and buy the most expensive balls from there. The golfer must not compromise price for his level of skill.

The golf balls he buys next will depend on his skill level. If he has great tendencies on failing on hits, he still needs to stay put with cheap balls. But this is not to the extent of using the same used balls. This time buy new inexpensive balls.

If for instance the golfer usually miss-hit the balls, then the balata-covered balls is nor the most appropriate ball to choose. Scratch players on the other hand would most likely prefer the golf balls that would offer lesser spin and more control.

As the basic theories for golfing, and most sports in that case explain, the skill improves with the frequency of playing. With improvements on the golfer’s skills, he may result to trying new golf ball brands. Through this, he may determine what golf ball brands will suit him best. But this doesn’t end here nor this factor decides what type of games the golfer may produce. He still have to reconsider other golfing components such as the golf clubs, the golf courses and other golfing accessories.

What Muscles Are Used In A Golf Swing?

What Muscles Are Used In A Golf Swing?

It may not seem like it, but golf is as much about muscles and good physical condition as any sport is. It seems that because golf is a more slow paced sport people do not give golfers the credit that they well deserve. The professionals make golfing look easy from a distance, but if you really think about every muscle they have to utilize to land the perfect swing you will better understand the physical demands of this game. There are people wondering right now about what muscles are used in a golf swing. Of course, the muscles of a golfer’s upper body are extremely important to the game. However, the lower body is just as important to their game as the upper body.

swing muscles
For any golfer on the course or at the driving range, the muscles they use in their swing should be strong and flexible to help produce the desired outcome of the swing. However, just because golfer’s need to be strong in the right places, this does not mean they will have to train and work out quite like a body builder might. Focusing solely on the muscles that are used in the golf swing is the most important thing. There is no one muscle that is the most important to a golfer’s game, but rather groups of muscles that are all equally important.

One’s core muscles, of course, are the base of a stronger turn and with that more stored torque or kinetic energy. A golfer’s hamstrings are one of the most important muscles of the lower body. Good hamstring maintenance can bring good golf posture and help in the prevention of lower back injuries. Another important muscle of the lower body are the quadriceps. These help a golfer’s knees flex through the whole of the swing. Of course, a golfer’s upper back muscles are quite important to the swing. Strong muscles in the upper back help with better posture which helps with an easier rotation. A golfer’s shoulder muscles will help allow a consistent top of the backswing position and much better control of one’s club through out the whole of the swing. The forearms of a golfer should also be in good shape. Strong forearms allow for a stronger impact position with no break down in the golfer’s wrist, which is very important in the course of a swing.

Most of these important golfing muscles are easy to work out. Taking a few minutes out of every day to do proper stretches and a few simple exercises can help keep you on the top of the game of golf. As was fore mentioned, there is no need to work out like a body builder just to increase one’s skill in this game. Eating a good diet and working those key muscles in your upper and lower body will help you keep your edge on the game. Of course, a good work out is to simply get out there on the course and start working out by golfing. If you choose to work these muscles out this way, at least remember to stretch out your muscles well before tackling a game. Pulling a muscle or tendon is bad news in any sport.
